The Gold From the Stone Foundation

The Gold from the Stone Foundation was set up by poet and writer Lemn Sissay OBE. The Foundation’s main focus is The Christmas Dinners. It raises and distributes funds for the Dinners, coordinates activity and acts as a central point of contact and support.

Lemn is the author of a series of books of poetry, plays and his memoir My name Is Why.  Lemn has campaigned tirelessly on behalf of young people in care and care leavers. In 2017 he established the Foundation, which is dedicated to the idea that no care leaver will feel alone.

Our Support in the Face of the Lockdown

The Christmas Dinners 2020 were staged in the face of extraordinary challenges.   The return of the national lockdown reinforced to us how fragile the times are, and it was with incredible pride that we were able to support the Dinners that were delivered.

We would love to support more Christmas Dinners across the UK with the ambition that we get to a time where no care leaver is left alone on Christmas Day. Please donate to the Gold from the Stone Foundation so that we can support even more Dinners this year and in the future.
