How Christmas Dinner 2013 was organised.

All details of how the team organised The Christmas Dinner 2013 for care leavers are within this blog.  Sally and The Tope Project who did a Christmas Dinner in London in  2012 inspired me to instigate The Christmas Dinner  for Manchester. Here’s how. On 25th February 2013 I wrote Sally at Tope  “I want to set up two Christmas for care leavers bartevents. One  in Manchester and one in Bradford. The aim:  to provide a Christmas day dinner for care leavers Read more [...]

Places for care leavers at The Christmas Dinner.

I check with The Christmas Dinner referral team to see how many care leavers are confirmed. Twenty five. There's space for 45.    I’m told an anxious young man has telephoned saying  he needed travel expenses to attend.    He wants to come to The Christmas Dinner but there's  no-one to refer him. His situation is complicated. Meanwhile I receive a message from someone I met at TEDx in Salford.  She told her friend about The Christmas Dinner. Her friend is a university student. He's 300 Read more [...]

Thankyou crowdfunders #TCD2013

If you have a good idea for the community in Britain there is a way to make it happen. Thankyou Louise Wallwein from The Christmas Dinner team. Louise had the idea to approach crowdfunder.co.uk to raise money for my vision.  Thankyou Sarah Sturmey of The Christmas Dinner team. Sarah stepped forward with her Charity to look after the money raised at Crowdfunder. Most importantly Crowdfunder glavanised us.  They  bought into the vision of A Christmas Dinner in The North West for care leavers between Read more [...]
