This Year's Events (2018)

Planning for The Christmas Dinners begins in September with volunteers setting up a Steering Group. Steering Groups are teams of around 15 local people who come together with the sole aim of providing a scrumptious Christmas Dinner for care leavers on Christmas Day. All details are in the How To Guide    Each Dinner tends to reflect the local flavour, that reflects the colour and life of the host city, town or region.

As we approach October the Steering Groups will have formed and we will know exactly how many Christmas Dinners will be taking place and where they are. The list below will be updated as and when Christmas Dinners are confirmed. The list below is from 2017 with all contact details. It includes The Tope Project.  In 2012  Lemn Sissay was inspired by them. It includes  Who Cares in Scotland who have inspired an entire country via The Christmas Dinners.

How Do I Get Involved?

There are lots of ways to get involved and the best way to find out about them is through the Facebook pages, links to which can be found above.

As well as joining a Steering Group who meet 8-10 times between September and December to plan the event, there are also opportunities to help:

  • Fundraise
  • Buy presents
  • Help with gift wrapping and decoration making
  • Volunteer to be a helper on Christmas Day

Everyone’s support is incredibly valuable so we’d love to hear from you – please email your key contact at the Christmas Dinner which is closest to you using the information above.

Donations can be made to the Lemn Sissay Foundation by using the donate button.
